How to Make your Life Easier as a Traveler (Part 1)

Kenny and I love traveling SO much, but we'll admit sometimes it can be uncomfortable and exhausting.

As we continue to travel more often, we are always looking for new ways to make our lives easier. We want to spend less time on the tedious aspects of traveling like packing, and more time on living in the moment of the experience.

Here are a few things we have learned that help us make the most of our traveling:

1. The suitcase MATTERS! I bought myself an Away travel suitcase a couple years ago, and it is the best decision I have made for my traveling! Their suitcases are so sturdy and built with quality materials. I don't have to worry about it breaking because if it does, I can just send it in and get it repaired under the lifetime warranty! They have a beautiful array of color options and any size you could want. They even have add-ons like engraving. This suitcase has made my life easier because of its interior and exterior design and mobility. Kenny jumped on the Away train and got a beautiful cloud grey colored carry-on as well! The quality and lifetime warranty already justify the purchase, but if you use this link to buy your AWAY products, you will receive $20 off! (Click here for $20 off your first order!)

2.  Use Packing Cubes! Packing can be a difficult and tiring activity. I am constantly trying to come up with ways to make this easier. One tip worthy of sharing: Use Packing Cubes! Kenny and I started using Branden packing cubes which allow us to easily organize our outfits.  They create even more space than the normal packing cubes because of their flex feature! They literally compress and allow me to be the over-packer that I am! They are truly life-changing for travelers! You will never go back after using them, TRUST US! Here is a link to a Tiktok video showing the cubes we bought.

3.  Do yourself a favor and Get TSA PreCheck! After recently going through the simple process of getting TSA Precheck, Kenny and I cannot believe we did not have this earlier! It was honestly so easy to get. Just head to this website to apply and make an appointment at your local business. We went to a Staples near us, and we received our PreCheck in a matter of days! The cost is $75 and it lasts for 5 years! We no longer have to stress about getting to the airport dramatically early. We never have to wait in lines. This has made the flying process SO much more enjoyable!

4.  Do your research BEFORE you get to your destination! This point is SUPER important. We learned the hard way that we cannot just wing it with things like restaurants and airports. I'll explain... We realized that we are accustomed to the business of the suburbs which brings along endless options for GOOD food. This is NOT the case everywhere. We have decided at times to "just wing it" when it came to dinner. We literally have gotten sick or absolutely hated our meal after doing this only to realize that if we just looked it up beforehand, we would have known it was not the best place to visit. In another instance, we went to the airport in Aruba about 2.5 hours before our flight just to find out that they do not have a quick and efficient system for security. We ended up having to pay $140 extra to skip the lines in order to not miss our flight! In the Cayman Islands, I had to completely empty our my suitcase to take out every liquid I had inside and put it separate through the security scanner. If I had done some research, I would have found this out rather quickly. The LONG list goes on, but you get the point! This is where accounts like us come in :) We do the research now and we tell you all about our experiences so that you do not have to mess up like we did!

5.  Do NOT have unrealistic expectations! I have grown in my traveling to realize that I cannot fit 30 things into one day like I planned and THAT IS OK! I used to have the most unrealistic expectations, and I would be upset that things didn't go as planned. This was not a fun way to travel! Your life will literally be easy as a traveler if you are alright with thing getting off the itinerary. In reality, Kenny and I have learned to LOVE when this happens actually! We end up laughing about it and having stories to tell. Nothing is that serious... I mean come on, WE ARE TRAVELING THE WORLD!

Thanks for reading along! We will continue sharing more about our past and upcoming adventures so STAY TUNED! 💓
